Memorandum of cooperation between the Qatar Foundation for Social Work  (QSW) and the National Service Academy

To provide awareness workshops to achieve common goals.

 

Qatar Foundation for Social Work and the National Service Academy have signed a memorandum of understanding intending to cooperate in areas of common interest in the field of the parties. This agreement provides awareness workshops to National Service Academy members periodically. In addition, the Foundation and centres shall use the National Service Academy facilities upon request or need.

 

Mr Ahmed bin Mohammed al-Kuwari signed the memorandum of understanding, Qatar Foundation for Social Work CEO, and Major General Saeed Hamad al-Nuaimi, President of the  National Service Academy.

 

The signing of this memorandum comes as part of the Qatar Foundation for Social Work's keenness to support, develop and enhance the capabilities of the affiliated civil society organizations. It seeks to advance these organizations, develop and activate their role in society, develop strategies, policies and programs that contribute to their advancement, and preserve the rights of the beneficiaries. This agreement is aimed to enable the civil society organizations to achieve the goals for which it was established, enhancing their role in serving the community and setting it to be a society that enjoys self-confidence, values and positive behaviour. This agreement also comes from the two parties' awareness of supporting the bonds of cooperation between them to achieve common goals.

 

"The signing of the memorandum of understanding aims to develop frameworks for cooperation in various areas necessary to achieve the objectives of the two parties, provide workshops and lectures to national service program members and graduates", H.E. Ahmed Bin Mohammed Al Kuwari, CEO of Qatar Foundation for Social Work, said.

 

The CEO of Qatar Social Work Foundation added that the Foundation's focus on this critical segment of young people is part of the importance of this age group and its impact on society, especially as they are in the stages of family formation and effective employment in the community.

 

He pointed out that the services that the Foundation will provide to the  National Service Academy under the memorandum of cooperation will vary due to the diversity of centres under the umbrella of the Qatar Foundation for Social Works and the variety of beneficiary groups to the benefit of society and the service of all its segments.

 

His Excellency Major General Saeed Hamad al-Nuaimi stressed the importance of the cooperation agreement with the Qatar Foundation for Social Work. Awareness workshops will be provided to students and staff of the National Service Academy to learn about the services offered by QSW and its centres.

 

In addition, this agreement shall provide the National Service Academy available to the Foundation and its centres using the academy's facilities when implementing joint events, programs and related activities.

 

He praised the various areas of cooperation with the Foundation that reflected the ability of civil society organizations to present initiatives related to the collaboration in different areas. He said the partnership aims to educate and guide recruits and all staff of the  National Service Academy and rehabilitate them.

 

The memorandum of understanding between the two parties aims to cooperate in the exchange of data, information or reports on target groups and to cooperate in joint events related to the parties, in addition to exchanging experiences, research, studies and data supporting the objectives of the memorandum under the laws and regulations of the two parties, as well as cooperation in the field of programmes related to the refinement of the experiences and skills of social workers.

 

Qatar Social  Action    Foundation was established in August 2013 as a private institution of public benefit, contributing to social and human development through its specialized centres. Qatar Foundation for Social Work is affiliated with eight centres: the Social Development Center (Namaa), the (Shafallah) Center for Persons with Disabilities, the Family Counseling Center (Wifaq), the Orphan Care Center (Dreama), the Center for Empowerment and Elderly Care (Ihsan), and the Protection Center and Social Rehabilitation (Aman), Al Noor Center for the Blind, and the Behavioral Health Support Center "Daam". QSW is keen on development and excellence in providing the best services, empowering its members and integrating them into society. QSW also enhances its role in monitoring social issues, which enabled it to support and advocate for Qatar's social sector by activating institutional partnerships and creating a solid new institutional culture capable of confronting and managing crises efficiently and effectively.
